Educational overview

Cryptocurrencies

Crypto prices can move at any hour and with little warning. This page explains the market in general terms. It does not mean Bear Markets currently offers it.

Bear Markets has not confirmed that cryptocurrencies are available to trade. This page explains the market. It is not an offer to deal.

How this market works

Cryptocurrency markets trade across many venues and often throughout the weekend. Prices can gap, liquidity can thin, and a reference price on one venue can differ from another. That makes position size and the risk warning especially relevant.

What can move prices

Prices respond to new information, liquidity and the currency in which the market is quoted. Past movement is not a reliable guide to the next movement.

Risks

You can lose money if the price moves against the position. With leverage, a small price change can have a larger effect on the account. Gaps, weekend closures and changes in margin can add to that risk.

Instruments, hours and contracts

No symbol list is published yet. When Bear Markets confirms the symbols on this account, they will be added here.

Trading hours will be published with the instrument schedule. They are not estimated here.

Contract size, tick value and margin rates are not shown because they have not been supplied.

Terminology

Bid and ask
The bid is the price at which a position can be sold, and the ask is the price at which it can be bought. The difference is the spread.
Volatility
Volatility describes how widely and how quickly a price moves. It is not a measure of whether a trade will make money.
