The risks of leveraged trading

September 15, 2026 · Bear Markets

Published by the Bear Markets website team. This article does not name an individual adviser or cite personal credentials.

Losses can exceed a deposit. Prices gap, and a CFD does not make you the owner of the underlying market.

Leveraged trading can lose more than the money paid in. That single fact should sit beside any account comparison.

Prices do not move in a smooth line. They can jump when a market opens, when news is released, or when liquidity is thin. A stop instruction asks for a close at a chosen level. It does not guarantee that the close happens at that level.

Where the product is a contract for difference, you do not own the share, currency, metal or other underlying asset. You will not have the same rights as an owner. Corporate actions and financing are handled under the contract, not as if the asset were in your name.

Nothing on Bear Markets is a personal recommendation. Articles explain terms. They do not consider your finances, and they are not a forecast. If you do not understand how a position loses money, do not open it.
